Small but not crushed in even when full. We had sandwiches and soup. All tasty and served with a smile

Lovely cafe bar. Really friendly atmosphere and attentive staff. Food was really well presented and tasted great. Amazing variation of hot chocolates that looked a meal in themselves. People and dog friendly. Highly recommended.❤

Been here a couple of times for both lunch and at night for cocktails and I can't recommend it enough! I would definitely book though as it understandably gets very busy and it's pretty small.

Chicken burger & fries and macaroni cheese with garlic bread. Food was nice, but the portion size of the burger & fries was quite small. The price of £11 was too high for what it was. Drinks were good. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.Might return but probably just for drinks.

Wonderful little place, seems to be very busy so I would recommend booking. We managed to walk in with no problems. Highly recommended!!

IT IS DIRTY, GRIMEY AND THE BAR STAFF ARE CLUELESS. WE BOUGHT THE SAME DRINKS IN 4 DIFFERENT ROUNDS AND WERE CHARGED 4 DIFFERENT PRICES EACH TIME.

Good priced food and drink. Staff service could desire a bit more. Food portions on panini's were good. coleslaw portions need to be bigger for certain and side salads with more veg than predominantly lettuce. Happy to visit again

Service was good to start with on coffee, but when it came to food ensn thought I had ordered it never came. When we asked about it they said we hadn't ordered it. Never again.

Any issues here get sorted, our third visit here today, sad to say food was awful and slow service, but must say staff treated us accordingly, I would still recommend and we will return, best bits are the milkshakes.

Modern interior but small dining area. Reservations are taken as they take block bookings for tables as they do get busy. Nice afternoon tea with table service but parts of our order was missing, however they accommodated for our child.

Cake and milkshakes are delicious, wish place was bigger! Also tried their burger nights, Wells worth it. Shame we couldn't upgrade our fries to the side even for an extra cost so got one between us. Burgers were great, so hot and steaming you had to wait for five minutes before you could eat it. Probably first place that food arrives too hot to eat which is fantastic. Service was good too

Absolutely love this place! Cocktails are so nice and are on 2 for 1 in the evening. The atmosphere is so cosy and pretty and the staff are lovely.

A coz, shabby chic, Brooklyn bar style coffee shop. Worth the stop for a great array of monster size cake portions, good coffee and crazy shakes. Friendly atmosphere and clearly under good management, can highly recommend a visit.

Myself and my partner obviously went on a particularly busy day, couldn’t get in straight away. This only made us want to find a table even more! Came back 20 minutes later, no problem.Amazing treats on offer here with an equally amazing group of staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience here and will be coming back in the near future.

Situated in a super location in the centre of Matlock, this friendly cafe come bar has a quality quirky decor that sets it above the standard cafe fare. Veggie or vegan no problem, plenty of options available. Coffee was half decent and the decadent hot chocolates make a lovely treat

The burgers and freak shakes were amazing, the Cocktails delicious but best of all was the service from the staff. Had a fab lunch there, highly recommend it. (though worth booking to be sure of a table)

Been for works Christmas party this afternoon... wish we hadn't bothered!! We hired the room upstairs but we might as well have been sat outside, the temperature in the room was ridiculously cold (some of us couldn't bring ourselves to take our coats off), couldn't see what we was eating as they had very little lighting and the staff lacked any customer service skills.The food however was quite enjoyable it's just a shame about the rest. Would definitely not recommend hiring the room.

So after spending lock down inside with no treats and only going out when really necessary, me and my best friend fancied some cake. Of we went to mad hatters! Absolutely spoiled for choice so i decided on some crumpets and a galaxy ripple freakshake! I was not disappointed the shake was amazing!! And really a meal on its own. The staff were amazing and well organised given the circumstances. I cannot recommend enough

Booked a table for 4 waitress really rude we ended ip walking out ..shame as we were really looking forward to our first visit ....she shouldn't be front of house for certain...very disappointed

Had a throughly lovely Afternoon Tea here today. Booked a day in advance and all of our needs were met. Great pot of tea and nice strong black coffee. The food was freshly prepared and a variety of cakes and scones was offered. We will be back.

Booked this for 8 of us at lunch and although small, they accommodated us perfectly. The staff were lovely and the food was amazing. My friends had burgers and cocktails and I had the Cookie Monster freakshake. Can't wait to go back!

We came here for my partner's birthday. She'd been looking forward to a freak shake for ages and it didn't disappoint. We came at about 1130hrs so had just missed breakfast so I had a fish finger sandwich which came with chips. It was so hot so it was obviously made fresh, I really enjoyed it. My partner had the cookie monster freak shake which was very well presented, see the pic! We went with our 1 yo and were made to feel welcome despite us taking up a fair bit of space. Thanks for a great experience.

This place is great. The staff are really friendly and the food and drink is fantastic. I had the pulled pork cob(a bargain at £3.50!) And a mars bar freakshake - both delicious and sensibly portioned. My wife had the salted caramel brownie which was a little dry, however her sparkly unicorn a hot chocolate more than made up for it. We will definitely be calling again!
